ಕಳೆದ ಜನವರಿ 14ರಂದು ಶ್ರೀ ಸಾಯಿ ಗೋಲ್ಡ್ ಪ್ಯಾಲೇಸ್‌ ಬಸವನಗುಡಿ ಶಾಖೆಯ 1 ಕೆಜಿ 249 ಗ್ರಾಂ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಆಭರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಲ್ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ ಹಾಕಲು ನಗರತ್ ಪೇಟೆಯ ಕೊನಾರ್ಕ್ ಹಾಲ್ ಮಾರ್ಕಿಂಗ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್‌ಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಜನವರಿ 15ರಂದು ಚಿನ್ನಾಭರಣ ಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ಕೊನಾರ್ಕ್ ಹಾಲ್ ಮಾರ್ಕಿಂಗ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್‌ನ ಮಾಲೀಕ ಭರತ್ ಚಟಡ್ ಅವರನ್ನ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, “ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿ ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ದೂರಲಾಗಿದೆ.
