    ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಸ್ಮಾರಕಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ತಾಣಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವಶೇಷಗಳ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ 1958ರ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸ್ಮಾರಕವೆಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
    ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಬೈಲಹೊಂಗಲ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವೀರ ರಾಣಿ ಕಿತ್ತೂರು ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ ಅವರ ಸಮಾಧಿಯು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ
    ವಸಾಹತುಶಾಹಿ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸಶಸ್ತ್ರ ಪ್ರತಿರೋಧವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದ ಮೊದಲ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ ಒಬ್ಬರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಶೌರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅದಮ್ಯ ಚೈತನ್ಯವು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಪತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
    ಈ ಅಪ್ರತಿಮ ನಾಯಕಿಯ ಸಮಾಧಿ ಕೇವಲ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಸ್ಥಳವಲ್ಲ, ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದ ಅವಿನಾಭಾವ ಚೈತನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಂಕೇತಿಸುವ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಸ್ಮಾರಕಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ತಾಣಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವಶೇಷಗಳ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ 1958ರ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯವಾಗಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸ್ಮಾರಕವೆಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ವಿನಂತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಕೋರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
    ಇಂತಹ ನಿರ್ಧಾರದ ಮೂಲಕ ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ
    ಅವರ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ನೀಡಿದ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ
