ಮಾನವ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಮಾನವ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಆಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ 4500ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿವೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯದ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿವೆ.
ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಾನವ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಆಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆಬಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮತ್ತು ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಇಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ಕೂಡ ತನಿಖೆಯಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಹಾಗೂ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ನೇಮಕಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

150 ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇ90 ರಷ್ಟು ಪೊಲೀಸರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಆರೋಪ ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿವೆ. ಅಕ್ರಮ ಬಂಧನ, ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಧಾರಗಳ ನಾಶ, ಸುಳ್ಳು ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲು, ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಹಲ್ಲೆ ಆರೋಪ, ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಹಣ ಪಡೆದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಆರೋಪ ಹೀಗೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಮಾರು 135 ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿವೆ. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಜನವರಿ ಅಂತ್ಯದ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಿ, ವರದಿ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಆಯೋಗ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದೆ
