    ಇಂದು ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಝಾವ 2 ಗಂಟೆ ಸುಮಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ 8-10 ಜನರಿದ್ದ ಕಳ್ಳ ಬೇಟೆಗಾರರ ಗುಂಪು ಅರಣ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ, ಸಾಂಬಾರ (ಕಡವೆ) ಬೇಟೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಖಚಿತ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಆಧರಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಳ್ಳ ಬೇಟೆಗಾರರು ಅಪ್ರಚೋದಿತ ಗುಂಡಿನ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದು, ಆತ್ಮರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕಳ್ಳ ಬೇಟೆಗಾರ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು, ಇತರರು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ವರದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.
