ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಏಕೀಕರಣ ಸಮಿತಿ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗೆ ಸೋಲಾಯಿತು.ಈ ಸೋಲನ್ನು ವಿನಯ ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವೆ ಎಂದು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸಚಿವೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾಳಕರ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಉಪ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಡಿ.ಕೆ.ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ಕಳೆದ 25 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್, ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಎಂಇಎಸ್ ನಡುವೆ ತ್ರಿಕೋನ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ, ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಆ ರೀತಿ ಆಗಿಲ್ಲ,ಇದೂ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಸೋಲಿಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿವೆ ಎಂದರು.
