    ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷಿ ಒಬ್ಬನ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳಿ ನಿಧಿಯ ಆಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಹುಣ್ಣಿಮೆಯ ದಿನದಂದು ವಾಮಾಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿ  ಕೂಲಿ‌ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕನೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಬಲಿ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಭೀಕರ ಘಟನೆ ನಂಜನಗೂಡು ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಹುಲ್ಲಳ್ಳಿ ಬಳಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

    ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರೊಬ್ಬರು ರಕ್ತದ ಮಡುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ಜಿದ್ದ ದೇಹವನ್ನುಗಮನಿಸಿ ಆತಂಕಗೊಂಡು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದಾಗ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ.
    ಹುಲ್ಲಳ್ಳಿ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಪಿಎಸ್‌‍ಐ ಚೇತನ್‌ಕುಮಾರ್‌ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌‍ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಘಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದಾಗ ವೀಳ್ಯದೆಲೆ, ಅಡಿಕೆ, ನಿಂಬೆಹಣ್ಣು ಮತ್ತು 101 ರೂ.ಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಮಾಟಮಂತ್ರದ ಆಚರಣೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
    ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ನಂಜನಗೂಡು ಜನರಲ್‌ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಸದಾಶಿವ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಾಗಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಆದರೆ ಆವೇಳೆಗಾಗಲೇ ಸದಾಶಿವ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು ಮೃತದೇಹವನ್ನು ಮರಣೋತ್ತರ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಾಗಿ ನಂಜನಗೂಡು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ರವಾನಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನಂಜನಗೂಡು ಡಿಎಸ್ಪಿ ರಘು ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌‍ ತಂಡ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಘಟನೆಯಿಂದ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಬೆಚ್ಚಿಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
