ಯುನೈಟೆಡ್ ಕಿಂಗ್ಡಮ್ ನ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿರುವ ಸ್ಕಾಟ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಮಂತ್ರಿ (First Minister ) ಆಗಿ ಹಂಝ ಯೂಸಫ್ (Hamza Yousaf) ಅವರು ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುವ SNP ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ಪೈಪೋಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೂಸಫ್ ಜಯಶಾಲಿ ಆಗಿ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಿದ್ದು ಈಗ ಅವರು ಸ್ಕಾಟ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನಿ ತಂದೆ ಕೆನ್ಯನ್ ತಾಯಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನಾಗಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಯೂಸಫ್ ಅನೇಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ SNP ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪ್ರಥಮ ಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿ ತಾನು ಸ್ಕಾಟ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ದೇಶದ ಜನರ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಗೆಹರಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸ್ಕಾಟ್ಲೆಂಡ್, ನಾರ್ಥರ್ನ್ ಐರ್ಲೆಂಡ್, ವೇಲ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯ ಅಥವ UKಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದೂ ಧರ್ಮೀಯ ರಿಷಿ ಸುನಾಕ್ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ನಂತರ ಈಗ ಸ್ಕಾಟ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮುಸಲ್ಮಾನ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷ. ಆದರೆ ಯೂಸಫ್ ಅವರು ತಾನು ಸಮಾಜದ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
