ವರಿಷ್ಟವಾದ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ನಾಮಪತ್ರ ವಾಪಸ್ ಪಡೆದು ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿದರೆ ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡಿ ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷ ನಾಯಕನ ಹುದ್ದೆ ನೀಡಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿದೆ.
